CTET 2020 NOTIFICATION

Central Board of Secondary Education  (CBSE) has always conducted CTET exam for those aspirants who want to become govt teachers. Central Teacher Eligibility Test gives the candidate an opportunity to become eligible for applying in Central Government Schools such as DSSSB/MCD/ NVS/KVS/Tibetan Schools etc. as a teacher. 

According to National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the minimum qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher for class I to VIII is to pass the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) which will be conducted by the appropriate Government every Year. It is a mandatory qualification for teachers. CTET is a central level exam that is conduction by CBSE

There will be always two papers:

  • Paper, I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper-II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.

CTET JUNE/ JULY 2020 IMPORTANT DATES

  • Opening date for online: application form: 24 Jan 2020
  • Last date for online application form: 2 March 2020
  • Last date of fee submission: 5 March  2020 (till 3:30 PM)
  • Online Correction Schedule: Expected in April 2020
  • Download Admit Card: Expected in June 2020
  • Exam date: 5th July 2020
  • Declaration of Result: Within 06 (six) Week from the date of conduct of the Examination.

CTET Eligibility:

  • Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes I-V: (Primary Stage):
 
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). 
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Education (Special Education)*. 
OR
Graduation and passed or appearing in final year of two-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
 
  • Minimum Qualifications for becoming Teacher for Classes VI-VIII (Elementary Stage): 
 
Graduation and passed or appearing in the final year of 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education.
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed). 
OR
Graduation with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure).
OR
Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in final year of 4- year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed). 
OR
Graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or appearing in 1- year B.Ed. (Special Education).
 
Note: 
  • Relaxation up to 5% in the qualifying marks shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to reserved categories, such as SC/ST/OBC/Differently abled.
  • Candidates who are appearing in the final year of Bachelor’s Degree in Education or Diploma in Elementary Education etc. are provisionally admitted and theirCertificate shall be valid only on passing the aforesaid Examinations, before the declaration of Examresult.

CTET Exam Pattern

There will be two papers :

  • Paper, I will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes I to V.
  • Paper-II will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes VI to VIII.
 
Note: A person who intends to teach for both levels (classes I to V and classes VI to VIII) will have to appear in both the papers (Paper I and Paper II).

Penalty for Wrong Answers

There is no penalty for any wrong answer

Cut- Off / Qualifying Marks and Award of CTET Certificate

The candidates appearing in the exam will be issued Marks Statement. The Candidates securing 60% (General) and above marks will be issued marks statement and Eligibility Certificate.
